Breathtaking Scenery
Beyond Hana we enter into the eastern side of the island. This is on the
lee or wind protected side of the island by Haleakala mountain so it is
dry. The views and vistas of lava formations carved from the ocean are
spectacular. Photographic opportunities abound. There are also some very
secluded waterfalls that depict this rough, rocky, dry side and on the
right day are also awesome to experience. This side is such a dichotomy
from the road to Hana with its lush vegetation and dense forests.
